Physiotherapists working with patients with mental illness need to be regularly updated and familiar with the mental health legislation covering manual handling
The CSP’s updated guidance on manual handling says physiotherapists must have a working knowledge of the legislation covering manual handling. It includes advice on delegating manual handling, such as to a junior physiotherapist, a support worker or to a member of the patient’s family.
