Qualitative research to identify the factors that contribute to malnutrition in older hospital patients and develop a food provision and nutrition management system to overcome those issues. The resultant 'Hospitalfoodie' system, comprising nutritional screening, tailored menus, healthcare team information exchange and food and nutrition intake monitoring, is described and the relevance of the system to community care is assessed. 8 references.
