Early OT intervention improves recovery after hip surgery – new COT guideline
The national guideline has been produced by the College of Occupational Therapists, and developed by experts from its Specialist Section for Trauma and Orthopaedics. It is the first formal publication to address occupational therapy practice in the area of total hip replacement, providing a benchmark for consistent, high-quality care across the UK. It provides 25 recommendations and implementation resources to enable occupational therapists to provide the best possible outcomes for adults undergoing total hip replacement.
