Stepping back and taking stock can often be the best way to evaluate success, identify areas for improvement and implement change. Knowing where to begin can be the hardest part – especially when there is no benchmark for comparison.
Five NHS trusts (Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (FT), Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals NHS FT, and University of Leicester NHS Trust) decided to tackle this problem – by carrying out a review of their therapy services looking at organisational structures, workforce, skills and service models.
