NIHR clinical academic training: making its contribution to QIPP

When it comes to finding ways to combine clinical and academic career development, the National Institute for Health Research CAT scheme allows nurses, midwives and other clinicians to enjoy the best of both worlds. The government’s strategy ‘Developing the Role of the Clinical Academic Researcher in the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions’ is intended as a firm foundation upon which to build a high-quality, highly motivated clinical academic workforce. Working clinically in the University of Nottingham’s community rehabilitation team, Pip believes NIHR CAT adds much value to the quality of clinical outcomes.
