Department of Health calls for action on obesity

With around 60% of adults and a third of children overweight or obese, the BDA believes that partnership working is vital to tackle rising obesity in the UK. It calls for action by government, local authorities, schools, workplaces, communities and by individuals; without which the health and social costs of obesity will continue to rise. The government’s call to action published on October 13th outlines new national ambitions to reduce obesity by 2020 and puts a spotlight on partners working together to ensure that people get the right support and information to help them maintain a healthy weight - something the BDA continues to do.
