International consultation begins on competency framework for physiotherapy pain management
The Physiotherapy Pain Association (PPA) has launched an international consultation to set out the scope for physiotherapists, from newly qualified to expert, to manage patients with pain.
“Work as an outcome” is focus of new tool for physios
The Fitness for Work paper is aimed at all physiotherapists treating working age people, and encourages them to consider how they can support patients in returning to work after a period of sickness or an injury.
Improving the care of people with Parkinson’s in hospital wards
Fiona Lindop, a specialist physiotherapist at Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said the study at Royal Derby Hospital provided specialist training to the ward’s multidisciplinary team. This led to the development of an integrated, seamless service, including physiotherapy that reduced the average length of admission by three to four days.
